Windows 10 view download progress taskbar - apologise, but
Hello, allesgeheim,
When you see the progress bar appear it should give you the option to Run,, Save or Save As.
Once you make a selection, the download will finish and your Anti-virus software will scan the download for security measures.
There's no setting in Edge to disable this feature.
You might try going to Edge Settings > Advanced > Turn Off "Ask me what to do with each download"

I like and used this feature before, so the downloads will be saved automatically in a set folder.
But I mean that I want to stop the message bar after a download is finished. I don't need this additional information.
See here (it's German)!
Ok, there is no additional setting in Edge. Maybe there is a way to change or add a entry in the registry or something like this. For example here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppContainer\Storage\microsoft.microsoftedge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\MicrosoftEdge
I think, if there is generally an order to call this feature, there should be also a possibility to prevent it.
@Smittychat.
You mentioned the security measures. Yes, before I get the message, that the download is finished, on the some place you get the hint, that the security check will be proceed, which disappers automatically. But how can I prevent this security measure completely?
Even if I deactivate Windows Defender (there is no other virus scanner) and the SmartScreen for Apps & Files, Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Store-Apps, the security check will be proceed!
I get too many false alarms and I can only save this downloaded file after a second download and if I allow this file on the device before.
I prefer that the a file will be detected in the Explorer or if it will be used. Because then I can set in Windows Defender, that it should be allowed on the device instead of deleting it forever!

1. Rread Microsoft Edge Policies before altering Edge Settings in Windows Registry.
"Protected - It is a violation of Windows Policy to modify" -Mark Heitbrink source
2. You can add exclusions in Windows Defender.
Follow these steps on how to do it from WinAero Tutorial if you feel the website is secure.
Caution: You're doing so at your own risk.

1.
I have read of the possibility to change Edge Settings in Windows Registry not only here!
I try to find a solution for a harmless adjustment instead of changing the browser...if you know what I mean.
2.
If the deactivation of Windows Defender doesn't work to stop the security check after a finished download, exclusions of folders will also not help.
However I tried it, but the result is the same:

Try Settings > System > Notifications & Actions
Under "Get Notifications from these Senders"
Scroll down to MS Edge > Slide the Button to Off
If you find you have issues with downloading a file from OneDriver per se: Re-enable this feature.
