So, my company is tossing around the idea of CBT Nuggets training subscriptions and I was asked to write a small explanation of why this would, or would not, be a good investment. I have used a set of videos from them to study for CCNA, but I don't have any knowledge of their full subscription. If anyone can offer up some useful pros and cons it would be helpful. In the meantime, I will be checking out their website more in depth. Thanks in advance.

In my personal opinion there's no cons. They have some excellent classes and great teaching dynamic. It's easy to learn and they explain very well, even for me that my natural language it's portuguese, not english.
I had a little concern about the dated material. Some of the courses on the course list date back to 2010. As long as the material is frequently updated as it relates to the topics in the training, then I think it would be a great resource.
You can buy access to their archive or buy an archive server for on-site and use it to train unlimited times, all users.
Take a look at budget spent each year on training vs cost of x licenses to train on unlimited things.
Best training videos I've seen so far, good amount of information from professionals, dynamic and no annoying "yyyy" pauses when talking. They also include labs instructions and files so you can build and test the network. All other training videos I have seen are more or less boring.

I've used CBT Nuggets extensively, and I think they're spendy, but worth the money.
- Excellent content, including companion downloads from skilled instructors with good presentation skills
- Solid web viewing platform with optional downloads or on-site server (apparently)
- Relevant, up to date material in most cases (I do wish some was newer, but it takes time to learn then produce)
I'm more of a fan of pluralsight but like the others have said, there are no downs. It's a very nice little setup.
I find cbtnuggets to be way too expensive. Pluralsight gets my vote too. Great content and price. Also some of the lecturers from cbtnuggets are now with pluralsight so that's great!

Our company has a subscription and I like all it brings to the table, web-based training, transender practice exams, and convenience. There are many nuggets that I wish they would show what you should be seeing rather than whiteboarding. It's a great supplemental tool.
CBT nuggets is a great learning platform. the learning tracks are well laid out and easy to search through. many of the instructors also maintain you tube channels (they call them micro nuggets i believe) that allow for quick updates of course content as well as areas where you can get info on a specific piece of something without digging through the entire course. the mobile app allows for download of videos and ive found its pretty good for travel and airports as long as you plan ahead.

I have a CBT nuggets subscription. Their strongest selling point for me was the interesting videos, as in they hold my attention a lot better than other services.
But as for right now I am not sure if I can say its worth the cost. Maybe for a company plan that would be less of an issue.

I've used a number of different training providers over the years, including CBT Nuggets and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Great trainers and an excellent format. From an IT Manager's standpoint, it's great as you can be the account administrator and get reports on who's watching what, when and for how long, so you can help motivate your team.
CBT Nuggests are great, used them at an old job. Personally I use a different site now, as I find the tone of the videos more to my preference, but I learned a lot through CBT nuggets.
