Here are the instructions for installing your game for each platform (Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, and Steam). 

Xbox One Console

If you already own Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One, Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST will be DLC items to purchase in the Microsoft Store. If you need to purchase the additions, you may do so via the Xbox Store now. To install your additions, you can do one of the following:

1. On your Xbox One console:
   1. Navigate to the Halo: The Master Chief Collection tile and press the menu button. 
   2. Scroll down to "Manage game & add-ons" and press A
   3. On the left-hand side, scroll down to "Ready to install" and press A
   4. Select the appropriate selection on the right and install it
2. Installing Remotely:
   1. Ensure that Remote Install is enabled on your Xbox One console
      • Open your Xbox One Console's Settings menu
      • Navigate to "General" then "Power mode & startup"
      • Set your power mode to "Instant-on"
      • Navigate back to Settings
      • Scroll down to "System" then "Updates & downloads"
      • Select "Allow remote installations" under "Downloads"
   2. You can install to a remote device from the Microsoft Store app on Windows 10, or from the Microsoft Store in a web browser.
   3. On the game’s product page, select […] next to the Install button, and then Install on my devices.
   4. You’ll see a list of all devices to which you can install remotely.
   5. Select the devices you want to install the game to, and then select Install now.
3. If you need to reinstall Halo: The Master Chief Collection, you can press the Xbox Guide Button and navigate to "My games & apps"
   1. Select "See all"
   2. Navigate to "Ready to install"
   3. Find Halo: The Master Chief Collection and press A
   4. Install all

Microsoft Store (PC)

If you are purchasing the title for the first time, the store will automatically install the title for you. If you have pre-ordered or purchased elsewhere and need to install the game, please follow these instructions.

1. Ensure you are signed into your PC using the correct account
2. Press the WIN key on your keyboard and type "Store" to bring up the Microsoft Store app 
   • Alternatively, you can navigate or open the Microsoft Store independently
3. On the Store app, navigate to the top right and click the [...] next to your account's profile picture
4. Select "Downloads and updates"
5. On the left-hand side, select "Ready to install"
6. Find the game in the list and select "Install"

Steam Games

As with the Microsoft Store, purchasing the game on Steam should prompt an install. If you need to locate it to install it, please follow these instructions.

1. Sign into Steam Games using the account that purchased the title
2. Select "Library" from the navigation bar on the Steam Games app
3. Locate the game on the left-hand bar and press the "Install" button

Xbox Game Pass

If you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you are entitled to play Halo: The Master Chief Collection as part of your subscription. This includes the Halo: Reach DLC for Xbox One. Here's how you can find your content utilizing your subscription.

1. Sign into your Xbox One console using the account with an active Xbox Game Pass subscription
2. Press the Guide button and navigate to the Store
3. On the store, press LB to navigate to the "Game Pass" menu bar
4. Navigate to Halo: The Master Chief Collection and press A
5. Select "Install" from the bar that pops up

Game Pass for PC (Beta)

If you are a Game Pass for PC (Beta) or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, you can also get Halo: The Master Chief Collection on your Windows 10 PC through the Microsoft Store. Here's how.

1. Download the Game Pass for PC (Beta) app from this link
2. Search for "Halo" in the top navigation bar
3. Select Halo: The Master Chief Collection from the search results
4. Choose to install the game
