Protect Yourself From Tech Support Scams

Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers trick you into paying for unnecessary technical support services. You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a Microsoft Agent or Microsoft Employee and that the phone number is an official Microsoft global customer service number.

Hi,

I would suggest you to test the issue by manually copying a single photo and save it. Check if it works.

I would also suggest you to check if you have permissions to the folder to which you are importing the photos.

I would suggest you to follow these steps and give permissions to the folder:

  1. Press Windows key + X on the keyboard.

  2. Click on Command Prompt (Admin).

  3. At the command prompt, type “takeown /f <foldername> /r /d y” without quotes and then press ENTER. (Replace <foldername> with the path of the folder).

  4. Then, type “icacls <foldername> /grant administrators:F /T” without quotes and hit enter. (Replace <foldername> with the path of the folder).

Using the above mentioned commands, we took the ownership of the folder and then assigned the Administrators group Full Control Permissions for the folder.

    Let us know the results.

Thanks for reporting this issue Ir.danika74.

There is a known issue with some Nikon cameras and we are rapidly preparing a fix to address the issue.

Before I saw your reply I figured out how to change the folders permissions by going into its properties.  After doing that I was able to import the photos and edit them without problems. Thank you.

We have the same problem with all our Fuji cameras.

With Windows 7 and 8 you could drag the photos from the camera folder to the desktop.

But Windows 10 does not recognise the photo folder (it actually treats it as empty when it is definitely half full).

This is not an administrator-related problem.

The only work around (until MS fixes the glitch) is to download the camera software and try to work with that.

I have exactly the same problem with my Fuji camera, it says the camera has  no photos on it. I had no problems with windows 7. hopefully Microsoft will sort out this problem soon.
